Flow and Reaction Characteristic in a Stirred Reactor for Corrosion Process of Reduced Ilmenite

The technology for producing artificial rutile by the reduction-rusting method has advantages of high product quality and less slag. A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is used to simulate solid-liquid suspension gas-liquid dispersion characteristics in stirred corrosion reactor. results show that maximum volume fraction difference solid phase reactor with an upward-lifting impeller 0.02, downforce type, it 0.04. When stirring speed increased from 100 rpm 150 rpm, radial area gas increased; after six-inclined-blade disk turbine selected as lower impeller, proportion bubbles a diameter than 0.004 m 26% 45%. content metallic iron reaction 1.67% impeller.
